The NurtureMe Prenatal Class

IT’S NOT WHAT YOU WOULD EXPECT

 At NurtureMe we believe it’s important to prepare you, not just for the birth of your baby but also for those early days of your parenting journey. Relax in our luxurious recliners while you hear from our qualified facilitators on topics designed to help you feel ready for the adventure of parenting.

The NurtureMe Pre-Natal course is run one to two times a month on Sundays.

The day involves sessions with a number of different faciliators covering a wide range of topics.

BREASTFEEDING

Linda Rayment known as “Lactation Linda” is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant who will answer all your questions and prepare you and your partner for breastfeeding, before the baby arrives.

BIRTH

Our midwife Carol Norton will cover all the topics involving the labour and birth and your time in hospital. This birthing education session aims to provide information about pregnancy, Labour and Birthing.

Carol has worked in the field of midwifery for over 20 years and during the last decade been actively involved in provision of education for childbirth and parenting groups within the hospital setting.

Topics will include:
# Emotional and physical changes during pregnancy, labour and birth.
# The stages of labour.
# Active Birth.
# Birth choices, Birth plan.
# Coping strategies—natural and medical.
# Support persons role.
# Early parenting.

 

BEYOND BIRTH

Deb Sirone has specilised in both pregnancy massage and baby massage for over 35 years. She is a qualified Instructor and has taught thousands of parents, how to read their baby body language, how to relieve wind pain, understand their sleep cycles and respectful touch which supports bonding and secure attachment between you and your baby.

Deb will help with some tips to help you both navigate the shock of the expectations in those early few months so you don’t just survive in the early parenting stage but thrive.

There will be a dads only session included in the day and practice sessions on nappy changing and swaddling.
At NurtureMe, we believe both parents play an important role in the journey into parenthood. Our Prenatal classes intentionally include and support fathers, helping them feel empowered, confident, and well-prepared for the arrival of their baby.

Handouts are supplied to help you remember the key points as well as goody bags overflowing with goodies including a little gift for all the Dads to be.

Each booking is for two adults. With Lunch, Morning and Afternoon Tea Provided
